I am a graphic designer, visual artist, and educator. My art and design research and practice focus on exploring connections between past and present design and artistic production with a focus on historical and contemporary African, Arab, and Western contexts. I use various modes of visual communication such as photography, typography, and illustrations in addition to exploring new techniques to document and communicate socially and culturally.

I am a Sudanese American, born in Saudi Arabia. I hold an MFA in Graphic Design from the Vermont College of Fine Arts, a Doctor of Education in Art and Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University in the City of New York, a Masters of Art in Art Education from University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication from the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

I am an Assistant Professor currently teaching in the Graphic Design and Multimedia Department at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in, the Eastern Province, of Saudi Arabia.
