Al-Khobar Photobook
The spaces we occupy are always in transition, as are we.
Change happens gradually, but it also happens rapidly. This photobook documents the streets
of Al-Khobar in Saudi Arabia, which have remained more or less the same over decades.
However, some shops that have been around for over 30 years are now disappearing. The photobook
aims to document the changing structure of the city, and documenting the old architecture
and shops that have shaped the urban landscape in the context of the contemporary before they
become of the past.

A Maxine Zine
In the book, Variations on a Blue Guitar, aesthetic education is defined as "an intentional undertaking designed to nurture appreciative, reflective, cultural, participatory engagements with the arts by enabling learners to notice what is there to be noticed, and to lend works of art their lives in such a way that they can achieve them as variously meaningful." (pg.6) This printed zine encompasses expressing the meaning of aesthetic education and aesthetic experiences in relation to art and everyday encounters. The zine combines typography, colors, textures, and abstract images to create a transitional aesthetic interaction.
